How England inspires advertisers

We love the United Kingdom and even more England. Indeed, British have a particular way of thinking advertising and it’s inspiring for all French creative people. But it’s not only their way of working but also their sense of humour or their actuality that bring material for us. So here’s a selection of the best British campaigns using their own clichés.

First element used: The Queen and the Royal Family… We’ll always be fascinated by their devotion to the Queen. Of course, it’s been a long time since we had a King so it’s quite interesting to us… In most of the English ads, the Queen symbolise courtesy and good manners (in the English way, for sure).

Talking about the Queen leads us to the Royal Guards. They are so emblematic. Whose French going to London never tried to take a picture with one of them laughing? (Still don’t know who they manage not to smile!). Anyway, they inspire advertisers too and those ones are my favourites:

And after the Queen and the guards, what do you think symbolise the best England? MUSIC, of course! Yes, we all know that British music is known as the best all around the world and not only thanks to the Beatles or The Rolling Stones! Have you ever count how many British bands there’s in your iPod? They are so many! And that’s why their popularity is used to brand favour.

And who’s the best advertiser / brand, using British culture to sell its product to the rest of Europe? Eurostar of course! And it’s been a long time now since they started using England features to build off-the-wall campaigns!

Its last campaign has just been unveiled yesterday… Still humour and some english piece of life…  Just watch the video and if you’re french, you’re gonna prepare your trip to London right away not just to visit but actually to settle down!! Of course, another campagin, for English people, shows the same images but of Paris ;-).

England will never stop inspiring us and that’s for good because we love England and we love English people! (Between you and me: I have a small, okay big, preference for british men over british women ^^)
